This was the perfect way to say goodbye to the characters that I’ve grown very attached to over the past few books!
Plot
This novella was super adorable. Juliette prepares surprise after surprise for Warner, proving just how deep her loves for him goes and just how exciting their life and future will be together!
Characters
As usual, Juliette blew me away with her adorableness and sweetness towards Warner. Their relationship is something admirable considering how much they’ve been through, so I was surprised that she was so lighthearted after the literal years of torture she’s been through. It makes me so happy to see her light up and be happy after everything.
“i would happily watch the world go up in flames if anything happened to her, and if that’s not enough for you, you can go to hell.”
Warner, he so deserves every second of his life with Juliette. He’s fought so hard for what he believes in, defied his father, defied everything he was raised to do, and he came out on the other side with his love in his arms. He deserves to live a happy life with the one that he loves and I’m so happy he’s going to get that.
Setting
“I didn’t understand then that a home is not always a place. Sometimes, it’s a person.”
I have to talk about the house because oh my god. It’s like the perfect tribute to the one thing that kept Warner going for years. It’s significance is unimaginably important and I can’t even begin to describe how fast I cried when I realized what the significance of the robins egg blue house was.
Writing
This was a super quick read so the writing was fast-pased and super easy to get through. I love how captivating Tahereh Mafi can be even if it is just a small novella.
