Drenched – matemenot

Alright, as you know, I’ve been trying to get through some of my Wattpad TBR and this one was very high on my list. I had been seeing it all over TikTok and other forms of social media, so I was super excited to get into it!

Plot

After finishing college, Julie Taylor whisks herself away to a beautiful vacation in Spain. Of course, her holiday took a completely unexpected turn when the beautiful and god-like local boy picks her up from the airport and Julie finds herself falling head over heels for him. 

Can Julie navigate her feelings for this boy before her time with him is too late?

Characters

Automatically, Julie was a character that I found myself relating to and enjoying reading about. She seems like one of those girls without too many friends, someone who wants to enjoy life and deals with it one day at a time. She was someone I could really get behind and follow without any difficulty which made this book ten times easier to read. 

Nicolas, the hot local boy, was also immediately attractive. You could definitely see where their relationship was going, but I enjoyed it none-the-less. 

Writing

As I’ve mentioned before, whenever I read wattpad, I usually expect writing that comes with fanfiction which is often cheesy and just not what I need in an actual story with original characters. 

Despite my beliefs, I was blown away with how the writing captivated me and kept me intrigued with the storyline. While it was definitely an expected and predictable plot, it was interesting and engaging because of the writing keeping me involved. 

Setting

I love this setting. Spain is the beautiful place for a foreign romance story and it definitely added that bit of romanticized beauty in the book. It was a romantic and enthralling destination for this kind of romance to take place and really brought the book up a notch. 

In Conclusion… 

If you’re looking for a quick and easy (and a little bit smutty) romance, then this is the one for you! With fifteen or so chapters, and straight to the point writing, you won’t regret this romance!
