Ah, 2022, welcome to the world! I’m so ready to start this new year with a fresh beginning. I don’t about you guys, but 2021 seemed to drag on FOREVER. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good year, I mean I made a lot of changes in my life including starting my first year of university, living alone, etc., but at the same time, the year continued and continued to no end and I have to say that I’m ready for the new year and new beginnings.
Since it’s a new year, I have a lot of goals that I’ve created for myself surrounding books and my blogging habits so I figured I’d share some of my own goals to inspire you guys!
Goal #1: Blog Posts Weekly
You’ve all probably noticed but I’ve been INCREDIBLY inactive on my blog and my bookstagram. While I’ve definitely been reading, the start of uni did catch up to me a bit and set me way back in terms of blogging and other forms of social media, so one of my goals for this year is to form a balance between my blogging and schoolwork, hopefully posting weekly on a set day of the week. I’ve yet to decide which day yet but we’ll see how it goes considering the second semester is just around the corner for me!

Goal #2: 100 Books for the Year
As usual, my Goodreads goal has been set for the year and I usually aim for 100. We’ll see if I can up my goal later in the year, but I’m feeling good about 100 and I think it’ll be a good challenge for me to strive for!
Goal #3: Make Some New Bookish Friends
Being in a pandemic is ridiculously difficult and I know I’m not alone in saying that it has taken a toll on my social life. Throughout the past couple of years of blogging, I’ve been able to make a few friends online that have really kept me going throughout the year. It’s so exciting to buddy read with you guys or just chat about your favorite characters. I love the enthusiasm that we all have for these characters and these beloved books, so another goal of mine is to make more bookish friends chat about books with! It’s genuinely one of the things that makes me so happy and I love seeing all of your reactions and opinions on various books.
Goal #4: Read at Least 2 Classics
Classics have always been a struggle for me. I often find the language hard to read and they aren’t as fast-paced as I usually enjoy, however, I really want to try and read at least two this year. Branching out into different genres is something that I’ve always wanted to do and while my safety is definitely romance or fantasy, I’d love to try my luck with classics or even horror (although I’m a major scaredy-cat).

Goal #5: Work Through the Majority of my TBR
If you follow me on Goodreads, you’d know that my TBR is 804 books long which is kind of crazy. I’m going to try to work my way through as much as I can of them before the year ends because 804, wow.
Goal #6: Read My Physical Books Before Buying New Ones
I don’t often buy a ton of physical books just because I enjoy reading on my kindle a lot, however, there is an overload of books on my shelves that I just haven’t gotten to yet. I’ve been so excited to get to so many of them, but just hadn’t been in the mood, or didn’t have the time, but I’m going to try my best to get through as many of those as possible so that I can clear my shelves of my TBR!
And that’s it! While these goals will hopefully stick with me throughout the year, I have no doubt that my TBR will end up at 1000 books or something crazy like that and I have no regrets, LOL! Let me know some of your bookish goals in the comments! Happy New Year!
