This book was a complete rollercoaster of emotions. I want to start by thanking the author, Erin, for providing me with a free copy of this book (and many of her others) in exchange for an honest review. I didn’t know what to expect going into the book, however, one chapter in and I was super grateful for the chance to read, so thank you, Erin!
This book was full of steam, angst, and violence. It was a beautiful mix of everything I enjoy in a book and the writing only made it ten times better.
Plot
Sadie Priest has a no-relationship rule due to past experiences. Her life has changed and is now made up of online meetings, work calls, and putting her business above all else.
At a work conference, Sadie makes her way to London where she meets charming, wild, and tattooed Cole who turns her life upside down. Her usual working days are filled with steamy glances and tension filled touches. Her mind that is mostly filled with work, is now full of Cole.
Sadie and Cole embark on a journey that could change the way Sadie looks at her past forever. Old friends, dark enemies, and mysterious romances brew right under their noses as Cole and Sadie form a relationship that is powerful and unstoppable.
Characters
From the beginning of the book, I was hooked on Sadie and her character. She’s one of the most well-rounded characters that I think I’ve ever met. Her strong personality and work ethic inspired me and kept me wanting more from her and her scenes. She’s a girl that knows what she wants and sticks to it, and I couldn’t help but loving that from the main character.
As usual, the steamy love interest definitely caught my eye, but Cole isn’t all that he seemed. In the few chapters where I was able to see his point of view, it was clear that Cole isn’t just a biker boy with a thing for our main girl, no, he’s head over heels for this girl and it was so adorable to see. Every badass male man should have a soft spot for his love interest and I love that Sadie is his soft spot.
Sadie and Cole’s relationship was absolutely adorable. Immediately I was drawn into their relationship and how fast it started. I loved the chemistry between them and the tension was so high that it kept me coming back for more, more, more.
Setting
The two main settings of the book were Luxembourg and London and as someone who has lived in London, I could imagine it all perfectly. I loved being back in a british setting where it felt like home, but at the same time it was a biker setting which intrigued me even more. Luxembourg sounded beautiful and elegant, just like Sadie which is why it was so easy to imagine her living there and having a wonderful life in the city.
Writing
As I mentioned before, I had no idea what to expect when coming into this book and I was absolutely blown away. The writing drew me in from the first line and we immediately got to action. I loved every second of this story and Erin’s writing kept me coming back for more. I was reading in any spare second I could find and I can’t get over how much I adored these characters and this book.
In Conclusion…
I can’t wait for the next book to come out of this series! Erin blew me away with her writing and unique style and as the ending drew to a close I was shocked with the mini plot twists thrown my way. I’m anticipating the next book and can’t wait to see what happens next!
