The Hat Trick – Madi Danielle

The Hat Trick was SUCH a cute romance!! I picked this book up for a book club that i joined on Fable, and i had no idea how addicting this story would be. I’ve been consumed by this story and the spicy romance! 

The story 

This why-choose hockey romance features Chandler, a woman who’s getting over her ex, Vince, the soft hockey player, Brent, the in-controlled hockey player, and Matt, the cocky hockey player. 

These three fit so perfectly together with their different quirks, strengths, and weaknesses. They come together as one in a way that I completely adore and seeing their relationship grow is so much fun!

The characters

I really liked Chandler as a main character. I feel like she was relatable and easy to understand. She also wanted to explore things that she hasn’t before and was nothing except upfront and honest which I admire. Her confidence in herself made me really enjoy her character. 

I’d be lying if i said I wasn’t hooked on all three of our hockey players but Vince has my entire heart. From the beginning, his softness had me grinning from head to toe. I mean imagine a huge hockey player being super cheesy? He’s adorable and he had me smiling constantly from how treats Chandler. 

Brent was another story. I feel like it took me time to get into him and find out his inner thoughts. His lack of vulnerability had me worried for a good portion of the book yet his openness with Chandler at the end of the story had me finding comfort in him and his character. The weight of having four siblings that greatly rely on you is extreme and I can understand that heavily. 

I can’t even begin to talk about Matt because the banter he brought to the book had me literally giggling and kicking my feet. This man. Not only was his nickname degrading and had me blushing but his cockiness and banter with Chandler gave the book so much more content to enjoy. 

The writing 

This is the first book I’ve read by Madi Danielle but I really loved it! It was easy to read from the first page and got me hooked really quickly. I didn’t want to put this book down at all!!

“Should I get bangs?” “No. No, you shouldn’t.”

If you’re looking for some spicy romance with a little bit of hockey thrown in there, get your hands on this book! Available on kindle unlimited, this hockey romance will have you swooning over three hockey boys!!
