You guys, I ate this book up! It’s been sooo long since I’ve gotten sucked into a good dark romance and a why-choose duet was just the thing I needed to get out of this crazy slump that I’ve been in.
The story
From the cliffhanger of Uncaged Desires, Max’s men will stop at nothing to get her back from Carson and her parents. She’s stuck in the same place she almost escaped from and forced into marrying the man that she hates the most.
Max must muster up the strength that she’s gained from her time at Uncaged to fight back against Carson while her men work to get her free. With the help of Max’s best friend, Danner, all four of them have to navigate the world with freedom just out of reach.
“Because she’s everything to me. She’s the one thing in my life aside from fighting that I live for. Even if I had to choose between her and fighting, it would be her. It would always be her.”
Characters
Max is such a fun character. I love how her strength is the focus of the story and how finding herself is the main point. It isn’t about the three men that she’s with, it’s about finding out who she is without the restraints of her family and fiancé looming over her. I think it’s a beautiful story about finding the parts of her that she didn’t know she needed and the parts of her that she truly loves.

I think Drew is my favorite of the three boys. He’s soft and balances the rest of the characters so well. Despite his softness, he has moments where he’s unforgiving and possessive which i adore. He’s one of those characters with so much push and pull to them and I just loved reading his point of view.
I love that we got to see more of Adam in this book. I felt deprived during Uncaged Desires!! I love that we find out more about why he doesn’t like being touched, the trauma that he’s endured and why he is who he is. He deserves every inch of what the four of them are proving and i felt myself falling further into him as the book continued.
While Caine isn’t my favorite of the three men, I’ll forever adore his psychotic obsession with Max. He’s unrelenting and his hardness is the focus of his relationship with Max, but despite that, this book showed us the softer side of him and I loved seeing him vulnerable. It was so different than what i expected.
The writing
This was such an easy read and despite the length being 300+ pages, i found myself zipping through it. It was fun and exhilarating to read and i loved Max and her boys!
Final thoughts
This is such a fun duet to immerse yourself in! Definitely recommend!
