Sundays in Bed With… The Secret History

Okay okay, hear me out. I know how popular this book is, and I also know how REAL the hype is. I mean I’m about sixty percent through this book and I’m addicted.

The Secret History was one of those books that had been sitting on my shelf for a long time. I had no motivation to read it despite the comments surrounding it saying how incredible and well-written it is. But, when my mum was looking for a new read, I figured this was right up her alley. I mean a (sort of) murder mystery, taking place in New England? Perfect.

We’ve been slowly making our way through the book considering how heavy the writing style is. I think both of us are completely hooked on it and so curious to see what in the world is going on and how these college students are going to be able to pull off their plans for (pretty much) world domination.

Anyways, on this particular Sunday – Mother’s Day – we’re spending the day doing pilates, binging our shared book, and having some good old mother daughter time, and let me tell you, this book is INCREDIBLE to theorize about with your mum! If you’re looking for a read that both parties will enjoy, this is the one.

Our book club started out with Evelyn Hugo, and we both loved the story and everything about it. While The Secret History is quite a bit heavier, it’s one of those stories that you can tell will always stick with you.

I’m excited to see where this will go – have you ready The Secret History?
