ARC Review: Scaredy Cat – Pandora Cress

My god, this novella. If you guys are looking for a spooky, spicy, and incredibly captivating Halloween novella, Scaredy Cat is a must read!

The story

I have to admit, I had no idea what Scaredy Cat was really about as I went into this story but I was pleasantly surprised. I already knew I’d love the writing style as I’d read Pandora’s other book, Serpent Darling, and completely adored it.

Scaredy Cat follows Stacey, a girl who has never been able to orgasm, and Zach, a demon who only gets a physical body on Halloween. As Stacey voices her desire to be chased through the woods and kidnapped as a sexual fantasy to possibly try and fix her sexual situation, Zach manages to twist Stacey’s fantasy into his own, creating a gory and spicy Halloween night for them both.

The characters

Stacey was such a fun character. It was disorienting for her to figure out the bits and pieces of herself that she never knew or understood before and I loved reading her point of view. I felt like I was really in her shoes as she figured out her heritage and that she maybe wasn’t what she expected.

Zach, god, I think Zach may be one of my favorite supernatural-type book boyfriends! He immediately caught my attention and I adored the way he took care of Stacey and gave her what she truly desired. His utter manipulation by using her sexually was..well, hot. Pandora’s male leads never fail to do it for me.

The writing style

This was such an easy to read and captivating novella. I was immediately drawn into the story and the first few pages grasp your attention. The characters pulled you into a haunting and almost sinister story filled with spice!

Final thoughts

I think I’ll eat up anything Pandora Cress writes, and I mean, anything. This woman is a genius!
