This is probably my favorite book in this series so far. It was so exciting and emotional and I couldn’t stop reading!
Plot
This book was centered around Max and the mysterious past that he could never seem to remember. It was the book I’d been waiting for since meeting Max and it definitely lived up to my expectations.
As an “enforcer” enters the Den, and explains that two wolf packs are on the brink of war, Max realizes what he must do and what he may find by going back to the packs and possibly meeting his family once again.
Meanwhile, his relationship with Mai develops into something more romantic than friendship and the two come to terms with what it may mean if Max finds his family.
Characters
Mai was, as usual, a relatable character that I could easily follow. Having her as the main character makes the series 100x better. I can really understand her and everything she does just makes sense. She’s a great character and I love learning more about her in each book.
As this book was centered around Max I feel like I finally got the backstory I’d been waiting for. I was so happy to see him remember things that are important to him and it was exciting to see what was going to happen between the two packs.
Setting
Starting this book off in the Den, we then travelled to the woods where the pack lived. I think it was exactly what I expected from a wolf pack and it seemed like the perfect setting for this reunion to take place. Max immediately recognized the area which made it a thousand times better.
Writing
Steele captured me with her writing once again, only this time my eyes were glued to the page. I was so excited to find out more about Max and his past and it was the perfect story.
In Conclusion…
My favorite book of the series so far and a great addition. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
