Destroy Me – Tahereh Mafi

This novella was so intense but it gave me so much insight into Warner and his character. It’s safe to say I adore him. 

The Story

After Juliette leaves Warner wounded, he is taken back to his compound to heal. But his soldiers are left to their own devices while he is healing, and someone informs his father of the situation regarding Juliette. 

Warner is stuck as his father comes down on him for his many mistakes and failures within his position, all while he’s trying to find Juliette again. 

As Warner continues his search for Juliette under the scrutiny of his father, he comes across her notebook and realizes just how much he’s fallen for her. 

The Characters

Warner. Where do I start? I love him, I adore him, he’s amazing. He’s broken and needs love and I WANT TO BE THE ONE TO LOVE HIM. He’s such a softie and I never expected to like him this much, but wow look at me, falling for another fictional man. 

His father on the other hand? Disgusting, couldn’t despise another human being more, absolutely not, never, nope. The pure hatred I feel for this man is UNMATCHED. He deserves all the world’s evil. Nope nope nope nope nope. 

The Writing

I’m hooked. I loved the writing in this book and I loved seeing Warner’s point of view. It was so interesting to see the different writing styles used for Warner and Juliette. 

In Conclusion…

I loved this little novella. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one sitting! It really gives a lot of insight into Warner and his character and who he truly is, and I couldn’t love him more.
