Now that October is upon us, Fall is very much here too! I’m so excited for cozy sweaters, warm drinks, pumpkin spice, and everything nice! That being said, a good autumn-themed book can go a long way in getting me in the spirit for fall, so, let’s talk about my favorite books for this cozy weather!
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
This is a book I read ages ago and it’s still one of my favorite contemporary romances. It made me laugh and cry at the same time and is honestly one of the books that got me into reading. Rowell’s writing is so easy to read and I was instantly captured by the storyline.
As someone who can now relate to Cath’s situation of moving to university, I find that this is a book that is going to get me through a difficult time in my life and I’m definitely in the mood for this kind of read!

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
Ninth House gives me major Halloween/Fall vibes. The entire book is so spooky and has the vibe of dark academic students. It’s so beautifully written and I went into the book not knowing what to expect only to come out of it anticipating the next book in the series.
Taking place at Yale University, the story will keep you on your toes as you discover the mysteries that come with our characters and their supernatural powers.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Alright, alright, I know it’s super cheesy of me to put Twilight on this list, but it just fits the vibe of Autumn and Fall, I mean come on!
The aesthetic of the Twilight Saga is pretty much unbeatable and with the blue filter on the movies, there’s no way you can’t get into the Fall spirit with Bella and Edward’s love story.
The good news with the series is that you can read Midnight Sun, which was released quite recently and will give you tons of insight into Edward and his character.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
If you didn’t know, September 1st is Hogwarts Day where the witches and wizards of the world head back to school and learn the creative arts of wielding a wand and defending themselves with incredible magical spells and potions. The Harry Potter series is a comfort series for a lot of people, and while this includes me, I also adore re-watching the series in the Fall with a huge blanket and my Hufflepuff sweatshirt.
You can’t go wrong with a little wizarding magic so let Harry Potter whisk you away on his adventures as you let the weather get colder outside and cozier inside! You might even want to try Butterbeer with that!

The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien
This is another one of my comfort series and I honestly rewatch these movies anytime I feel like a need something familiar. The books are even better and while I don’t particularly have the time to be re-reading the books, they will always put me in a cozy mood.
Middle Earth is one of those settings that is so familiar that it feels like home. I am comforted by its presence and the characters that come with it. The insight into their stories is so beautiful and exciting and absolutely perfect for the Fall weather!

The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Alright so I’m currently reading this series and it gives off serious Fall vibes. The entire series is so cozy and welcoming that I can’t help but love that I picked it up at this time of the year. The writing style is so easy to get into and I love how attached I am to these characters now. It’s so beautifully easy to love the series and get into a binge-read mood.

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
I finished this series what seems like ages ago, but even thinking about it gets me into the Fall vibe. It’s mysterious and intense, magical and full of royalty. The plot is so interesting and I loved every second of the series, learning these characters and seeing them grow.
