Run, Rabbit, Run – Juniper Hartmann

HOLY PLOT TWIST?! Run, Rabbit, Run has been on my tbr since joining book threads at the beginning of July this past summer. The lovely author, Juniper Hartmann has been promoting her debut and since following her, the teasers were too hard to resist!

The story

Living a nightmare, Bunny is stuck as a captive for a tormentor who wants nothing more than to pleasure her until she can’t walk straight. Battling internally with her betraying body and her steady mind, Bunny is forced to face her past and the demons that haunt her trauma.

With a captor that is surprisingly soft, an assistant made for comedic relief, and hauntingly steamy scenes, Run, Rabbit, Run will have your jaw on the floor, begging for more.

The characters

I loved Bunny’s character. Not only was she super steadfast and strong but her bravery in a difficult situation made me genuinely adore her. While battling in her mind about her body betraying her, she continued to be bold towards her captor and go with her gut. I loved watching her battle between pleasure and pain and figure out where the line actually is.

“If there’s a whore inside of you, Bunny, I’m going to drag her out kicking and screaming. I promise you that.”

Demetrius was like a shock to my system. This man, a captor, was supposed to be a character that the audience hates but I couldn’t help but love him. His gentleness with Bunny in her times of need, his softness with her? It made my heart happy?! Maybe I’m crazy but the dude was doing it for me!

The writing style

Starting this book at two in the morning was my first mistake because I had no idea how addicting it would be. One hour later and I’m at the halfway point, panting and begging for more. Let’s not even talk about that plot twist, okay?! I’ll keep it light for those who are interested in finding it out for themselves – my jaw was on the floor and I had to stare at the wall for ten minutes to process it.

Final thoughts

I am obsessed with Juniper Hartmann’s writing style and this entire book. With its addictingly fast-paced story, I couldn’t put this down!
