My exams are finally, finally over and I’m free to do whatever I want. I love having the freedom to read whatever I want and actually explore my interests (instead of reading textbooks all the time).
Anyways, now that second year is over, I obviously started out the summer with a good old dark romance novel that I’ve heard SO many good things about.
Priest by Sierra Simone is about a priest called Tyler Bell who struggles keeping his vow of celibacy when the lovely and temping Poppy Danforth comes to his church for confessional. There’s an immediate attraction between the two of them and they can’t seem to stop the tension from running wild.
Tyler has no choice but to give in to temptation before he does something he’ll really regret – but is it worth losing all that he’s fought for all these years?
I’m genuinely so hooked on this story so far. It’s incredibly tense and the sexual tension is just through the roof. I adore both of the characters and I love that they’re able to be themselves with each other.
I do have to say that the writing is a little difficult to get through. I don’t know if it’s because I just have a short attention span because of my exam burnout or if it’s a genuine issue but I find myself needing breaks in between a few chapters because it’s just a heavier writing style than I expected from the usual dark romance genre. The book does cover some of the heavier content types though, so I understand where it can be harder to read.
On another note, get ready for some more posts coming your way – school’s out and I’m ready to jump back onto the content creating and reading train!
