Yep, I guess I forgot to upload the entire Off Campus series so here we are: book 2 (which I read probably about a year ago, but never uploaded the review)
Oh my god, I am obsessed with these lovebirds. Grace and Logan ARE SO FREAKING CUTE!!!!! They’ve had me grinning like a crazy woman for the past few hours while binge reading this book at three in the morning.
The mistake
Elle Kennedy blew me out of the water with yet another hockey romance that HAD ME ON MY KNEES. I knew I loved Logan but I didn’t know I loved him this much. And Grace was such a sweet surprise.
The two of them were pretty much made for each other. Their sarcastic comments, witty banter, and sizzling chemistry had me wanting more and more throughout the entire book and I couldn’t put it down!
The psych major
As a psych major myself, I fell in love with Grace instantly. Her innocence and lack of experience had me wanting to learn more about her and who she is as a person. I was curious about why she picked psychology and why she wants to be a therapist considering that’s my main goal too. It was kind of nice having a character that was aiming for the same career as me, I don’t really get a lot of that from other stories.
Not only was she incredibly intriguing, she was sarcastic and confident, and from someone who babbles when they’re nervous, she shattered my expectations and showed me what it’s like to be a freshman who knows what she deserves. I feel like she’s one of those characters that comes off as sunshine and is sunshine (but only when she wants to be), because let’s be honest, Grace has a temper!
The hockey player
“I’m comfortable enough with my hetero status to say that if I did play for the other team? I wouldn’t just fuck Garrett Graham, I’d marry him.”
Logan was a character that I was interested in from The Deal. I knew he was hung up on Hannah, but I didn’t understand what was going through his mind until now. He comes off as a character that knows what he wants and how to get it, and that he’s almost unstoppable, but it’s the opposite in reality. His home life is ridiculously difficult to handle and traumatic for anybody to deal with, let alone a twenty one year old college student. He’s also had to give up a million things in his life and make sacrifices for what he believed is what’s best for his family and I have to say that I genuinely respect him for that.
Going into this book, I thought of Logan as an arrogant hockey player who had everything handed to him. This book was like a reality check for me to see who he really is and how really thinks. I felt sorry for the life he’s had to endure while growing up and proud of the person he’s become.
The hockey player and the psychologist
Grace and Logan were magic. They molded together perfectly and it was almost like they were made for each other. Logan surprised me time and time again with his dedication and complete adoration towards Grace, and Grace shocked me with her confidence in her relationship with Logan.
“I need you. I can’t stand the thought of being without you.” He releases a shaky breath. “You’re the last person I think about before I go to sleep, and the first person I think about when I open my eyes in the morning. You’re it for me, baby.”
While the two had a bit of a rocky start and a few hiccups along the road, after reading the book and the epilogue, you can tell that they’re two characters that will stick by each other no matter what and that’s almost beautiful in itself.
Elle Kennedy
Elle Kennedy has shocked me once again with how much I adored this book. I usually find the second book in a series (even if it is sort of standalone), to be almost boring and dragging on, but I genuinely couldn’t stop reading. I’m pretty sure I sat down only planning to read a few chapters and ending up whizzing through the book.
“Babe, you’ve gotta stop revealing all your crazy up front. Seriously. Save all that stuff for later, when you’re in a relationship with the guy and it’s harder for him to run away.”
The Off-Campus series definitely has the kind of writing style where you just get lost in the words and don’t realize the chapters slipping away. The book was over before I knew it and I loved every single second!
The Hannah and Garrett of it all
Can we talk about the cameos for a second, because oh my god I love seeing my babies completely head over heels in love! It’s so freaking cute that we’re still getting more Hannah and Garrett content, and from the point of view from Logan too! You can tell that the two were completely made for each other and obsessed with each other, and I love love love seeing them!
