The Score – Elle Kennedy

Okay, I don’t think I could be any more obsessed with a book series. Seriously. Elle Kennedy has quite literally made me rise from the dead and binge the Off Campus series in every spare second that I have throughout the day, and I love it.

The actress

I’ve been curious about Allie since she was introduced in The Deal, which was Hannah and Garrett’s story. She was definitely a character that I’ve enjoyed hearing about from the beginning of her introduction, but I didn’t realize just how much I’d relate to her. She’s someone who’s grown up always being in relationships and never being her own person, and someone who adores her family and those she loves so dearly. I found myself looking at Allie and her decisions and life and thinking “same, we’re the same person”, and I love that in a story.

“Dean Di Laurentis is in my blood now. I didn’t expect the intense sexual chemistry between us, but it’s here, and it’s addictive, and I don’t know how I can ever give it up.”

Not only was she relatable, but she was soft and kind and her story took me through about a million different emotions. Following Allie as she navigated being on her own in a new and different relationship than she was used to was refreshing. I liked seeing her grow into who she really is and take life into her own hands. I liked seeing her understand the smaller parts of herself as she was learning to get to know Dean.

The player of hockey..and women

Dean, where do I even begin? It’s not like I haven’t heard the stories about Dean and his insatiable sex addiction or how he’s a major player and will never ever settle down. I have heard the stories and despite this my hopes were set high for Dean. And let me tell you, he didn’t disappoint.

Dean was softer than I expected and he had me wrapped around his finger. From the minute his story began I felt understood by him. His entire attitude was “go with the floor and see where it takes you”, and I love that he basically represented a lot of college students that go through the same things.

Dean’s life is a particularly unusual one. His family is rich, sure, but he doesn’t let that influence his perspective on the world. Dean doesn’t take life for granted or boast about how much money he has, no, instead, he does what makes him happiest and cares for those he loves.

His family life is one that I greatly admire. I feel like a lot of families that I read about with tons of money actually struggle to connect with each other because the riches cause a rift between the family. Dean’s family was the opposite and they loved each other unconditionally. His sister, Summer, had me constantly laughing as she bantered with her older brother.

“All my senses are filled with her—her sounds, her smell, her touch. Her.”

Dean was like a shock to my system. He was so well rounded, soft, kind, and yet somehow he was still manly and hard.

Spoiler!!!!

Maxwell

Losing Maxwell was like a punch to the gut for me. Throughout the series he’d made appearances and cameos and I was genuinely enjoying his little scenes and the way he interacted with our main characters, especially Dean. The two had a bond that seemed unbreakable.

Dean’s grief over losing Maxwell had me in tears. I genuinely didn’t know what to do, it felt like his situation was helpless. His grief came down hard on him and I can somewhat understand how he handled the situation, however unhealthy it may be.

Dean and Allie

These two are like a match made in heaven. They’re dirty, rough, and sweet. I love that they’re the first person they each turn to when they’re in need, I love that they found each other despite how different they really are.

Off Campus 3

This was such an amazing book and I honestly can’t get enough of these characters and this series. I was never someone who was super into sports romances, but this book definitely had me completely obsessed with everything going on.
